Gas lift
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001626
An artificial lift method that injects high-pressure gas into the production tubing of an oil well to reduce the density of the fluid column. This reduction in density lowers the hydrostatic pressure, allowing the reservoir pressure to push the oil to the surface. Gas is typically injected through gas-lift valves installed in side-pocket mandrels.
