Barrel pump
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000277
A type of positive displacement pump, often a rod pump, designed to lift fluids from a wellbore. It consists of a working barrel, plunger, and valves that reciprocate to draw fluid into the barrel and then push it to the surface. These pumps are widely used for artificial lift in oil wells with insufficient natural pressure.
