Cylinder
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000943
A component of a reciprocating pump or compressor that contains the piston and provides the chamber where fluid is compressed or displaced. In artificial lift systems, the pump cylinder houses the plunger and valves that move fluids from the wellbore to the surface. The internal diameter of the cylinder dictates the pump's displacement volume.
