Sucker rod pump
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003680
A positive displacement pump installed at the bottom of a well, driven by a reciprocating motion from a surface pumping unit via a string of sucker rods. It lifts oil or water from the reservoir to the surface by creating a vacuum in the pump barrel. This artificial lift method is widely used in onshore oil production.
