Polished rod
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002844
A smooth, high-strength steel rod that connects the pumping unit's walking beam to the sucker rod string in a rod pump artificial lift system. It passes through the stuffing box at the wellhead, providing a dynamic seal against wellbore fluids. The polished rod's surface finish and material resist corrosion and wear from continuous reciprocating motion.
