The full upward or downward movement of the polished rod in a beam pumping unit, which in turn moves the sucker rod string and downhole pump plunger. Each complete cycle of an upstroke and a downstroke constitutes one pump cycle. The length of the stroke directly influences the volume of fluid lifted per cycle.
