Strokes per minute
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003658
The rate at which a beam pumping unit operates, measured by the number of complete upstroke and downstroke cycles performed by the polished rod in one minute. This parameter directly controls the volume of fluid produced by the downhole pump. Typical values range from 3 to 15 strokes per minute, depending on well conditions and desired production rates.
