Sucker rod
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003679
A steel rod, typically 25 to 30 feet long, used in a string to connect the surface pumping unit to the downhole sucker rod pump. These rods transmit the reciprocating motion from the surface to the pump, lifting fluids from the wellbore. Sucker rods are joined together with threaded couplings.
