Pump barrel

The cylindrical housing of a downhole pump, typically made of steel, within which the pump plunger or rotor operates. It provides the sealed chamber where fluid is drawn in and then discharged under pressure. The internal diameter and material of the pump barrel are selected based on well conditions and fluid properties.
