Cylinder operator
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000944
A type of valve actuator that uses a piston or diaphragm within a cylinder to convert fluid pressure, typically pneumatic or hydraulic, into linear motion to open or close a valve. The fluid pressure acts on one side of the piston, moving it and thereby operating the valve stem. These operators are selected based on the required thrust, stroke, and available fluid pressure.
