Injection mandrel
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001987
A side-pocket mandrel installed in the tubing string to hold a retrievable injection valve, either a gas-lift valve that meters annulus gas into the tubing or a chemical-injection valve fed through a control line or the annulus. The valve sits in an offset pocket, so wireline can run and pull it without pulling the tubing. Pockets commonly accept valves of 1 inch or 1.5 inch outside diameter.
