Unloading valve
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003994
A component in a hydraulic system that diverts fluid flow to a low-pressure reservoir when the system pressure reaches a predetermined level. This action reduces the load on the pump and conserves energy by preventing further pressure buildup. Unloading valves are commonly used in hydraulic power units for intermittent operations or to protect components from overpressure.
