Gas-lift mandrel

A specialized tubular device installed as part of the production tubing string in a well equipped for gas lift. It provides a housing for gas-lift valves, allowing them to be retrieved and replaced without pulling the entire tubing string. Mandrels are typically side-pocket or conventional types, with side-pocket mandrels being more common for wireline operations.
