Gasdrive

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001636

A natural reservoir drive mechanism where the expansion of dissolved gas or a free gas cap provides the energy to push oil toward the wellbore. As reservoir pressure declines, the gas expands, displacing the oil. This mechanism is less efficient than water drive, typically resulting in lower oil recovery factors.
