Gas-cut mud
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001635
Drilling fluid that has become contaminated with natural gas from the formation, reducing its density and hydrostatic pressure. This condition can lead to a loss of well control if not managed properly, as the reduced pressure may allow more formation fluids to enter the wellbore. Degassers are used to remove entrained gas.
