Cut point

The specific particle size at which a solids control device, such as a shale shaker or hydrocyclone, separates solids from the drilling fluid. Particles larger than the cut point are removed, while smaller particles remain in the fluid. This parameter is measured in microns and indicates the efficiency of solids removal equipment.
