Laser diffraction
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002124
A laboratory technique used to determine the particle size distribution of sediments or drilling fluid solids by measuring the angle at which a laser beam is diffracted. Larger particles diffract light at smaller angles, while smaller particles diffract at wider angles. This method provides precise measurements for characterizing reservoir quality or mud properties.
