Tubing thread

The helical ridges cut into the ends of tubing joints that allow them to be screwed together to form a continuous string. These threads are designed to provide a strong mechanical connection and a pressure seal when properly made up. Common thread types include API (American Petroleum Institute) round threads and premium gas-tight connections.
