Casing collar

A short, threaded steel connector used to join two lengths of casing pipe. It provides a strong, leak-proof connection between casing joints, allowing the entire string to be run into the wellbore. Casing collars are manufactured to specific American Petroleum Institute (API) standards for thread type and material strength.
