Casing centralizer
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000557
A mechanical device secured around a joint of casing to keep it from touching the sides of the wellbore. By maintaining a standoff from the borehole wall, centralizers position the casing string in the middle of the hole. This placement provides a uniform annular space for cement to flow into, creating a complete and effective hydraulic seal.
