Centralizer

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000625

A mechanical device attached to casing or tubing to keep it centered within the wellbore during cementing operations. This centering creates an annular space of uniform thickness, allowing for an even distribution of cement around the pipe. Bow-spring and rigid blade centralizers are common types, selected based on hole deviation and casing size to achieve optimal standoff.
