Centipoise
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000624
A unit of dynamic viscosity equal to one millipascal-second, or one hundredth of a poise. Fresh water at about 20 degrees Celsius has a viscosity of almost exactly 1 cP, which makes the unit a convenient yardstick. Plastic viscosity and apparent viscosity of drilling mud are reported in cP, with values commonly falling between about 10 and 100.
