Plastic viscosity

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002818

A measure of the resistance of a drilling fluid to flow caused by mechanical friction between solid particles and the fluid, and between the fluid molecules themselves. It is determined from rheological measurements, specifically the difference between the 600 rpm and 300 rpm viscometer readings. Plastic viscosity is expressed in centipoise (cP).
