Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001730
A sand control method that places a permeable filter medium, typically graded sand or ceramic beads, in the annular space between the well screen and the formation face. This material prevents the movement of formation sand into the wellbore while permitting the flow of reservoir fluids. The gravel pack material is selected based on the size distribution of the formation sand.
