Gravel-pack screen

A filtering device installed in a wellbore as part of a gravel pack completion, designed to retain the gravel pack material while allowing reservoir fluids to flow into the production tubing. It consists of a perforated base pipe covered by a wire-wrapped or pre-packed screen jacket. The slot size or mesh opening of the screen is chosen to match the size of the gravel pack material.
