Tell-tale
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003782
An indicator on a cementing head that confirms a cementing plug, dart or ball has been released and has passed downhole. It is usually a mechanical lever or pin that the passing plug trips, giving the crew a visible signal at surface. Without it, the crew relies on pumped volume and the pressure rise at landing to infer that the plug left the head.
