Screen

A filtering device installed in a wellbore to prevent the entry of formation sand or other solids into the production tubing while allowing fluids to flow. It consists of a perforated pipe with a filtering medium, such as wire wrap or slotted liners. Screens are a primary component in many sand control completions.
