Screen
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010595
A systematic process of testing a large number of chemical compounds or biological samples for a specific activity or property. This high-throughput approach identifies substances that exhibit a desired effect, such as inhibiting an enzyme or activating a receptor. Screens are often conducted using automated robotic systems and miniaturized assay formats.
