Confirmed hit

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002411

A compound or substance identified in an initial high-throughput screening as having a desired biological activity, which is then re-tested and validated in a secondary assay. This re-testing confirms the activity and often eliminates false positives from the primary screen. A confirmed hit serves as a starting point for further drug discovery efforts.
