Hit expansion
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005321
The process of synthesizing and testing a series of structurally related compounds around an initial 'hit' molecule identified in a high-throughput screen. This aims to explore the structure-activity relationship (SAR) and identify more potent or selective compounds. It often involves modifying the chemical scaffold of the original hit.
