One-hit model
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008237
A mathematical model used in toxicology to describe the dose-response relationship for certain biological effects, particularly carcinogenesis. It postulates that a single molecular event or "hit" by a toxicant is sufficient to initiate the adverse effect. This model often assumes a linear relationship between dose and response at low doses, without a threshold.
