Counter-screen
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002642
A secondary assay performed in biomolecular screening to distinguish true positive hits from false positives or compounds with undesirable activity. This follow-up screen tests the active compounds from a primary screen against a different but related target or in a modified assay format. For example, a counter-screen can identify compounds that interfere with the detection technology itself rather than interacting with the biological target.
