Scotoma

An area of partial or complete vision loss within an otherwise normal visual field, often described as a blind spot. Scotomas can result from damage to the retina, optic nerve, or visual cortex. They can vary in size, shape, and density, and their presence can indicate underlying neurological or ophthalmological conditions.
