Congenital retinoschisis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002433
A genetic disorder characterized by the splitting of the retinal layers, typically in the macula, leading to impaired vision. This X-linked recessive condition is present at birth and primarily affects males, causing progressive vision loss. The splitting occurs within the nerve fiber layer of the retina.
