Retina
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010297
A light-sensitive layer of tissue at the back of the eye that contains photoreceptor cells, which convert light into electrical signals. These signals are then transmitted to the brain via the optic nerve, enabling vision. The retina is a complex structure comprising several layers of neurons and glial cells.
