Congruent transition
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002434
A phase transition where a solid phase transforms into another phase (solid or liquid) without any change in chemical composition. The composition of the initial and final phases at the transition point is identical. This type of transition is common in pure substances undergoing melting or polymorphic transformations.
