Diffusional transition
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003200
A phase transformation in a solid material that involves the movement of atoms or molecules over relatively long distances. This type of transition is characterized by a change in crystal structure or composition, driven by diffusion. An example is the transformation of graphite to diamond under high pressure and temperature, which requires atomic rearrangement.
