Allotropic transition
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000437
A reversible phase transformation between two or more distinct crystalline or molecular forms of the same element, occurring at a specific temperature and pressure. These forms, known as allotropes, exhibit different physical and chemical properties. A classic example is the transition between diamond and graphite forms of carbon.
