Carbon

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001630

A nonmetallic chemical element with atomic number 6, existing in several allotropic forms such as diamond, graphite, and amorphous carbon. It is tetravalent, forming four covalent bonds, which allows it to create complex and stable structures. Carbon is the basis of all organic life and forms a vast number of compounds.
