Glass-like carbon
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004895
A non-graphitizing carbon material characterized by its glassy appearance, high hardness, and impermeability to gases. It possesses a disordered structure with a high degree of cross-linking, preventing the formation of graphitic layers even at high temperatures. This material is used in electrodes, crucibles, and laboratory ware.
