Glassy state
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004898
The amorphous, solid state of a material, characterized by a high viscosity and the absence of long-range order, similar to a supercooled liquid. This state is reached when a liquid is cooled below its glass transition temperature without crystallizing. Polymers in the glassy state are rigid and brittle.
