Strong glass
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011488
A type of glass-forming liquid characterized by a relatively small change in viscosity with temperature near its glass transition temperature. The fragility index, which quantifies this temperature dependence, is low for strong glasses. Silica (SiO2) is a classic example of a strong glass, exhibiting a nearly Arrhenius temperature dependence of viscosity.
