Vogel-Fulcher-Tammann equation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012600

An empirical equation that describes the temperature dependence of the relaxation time or viscosity of supercooled liquids, particularly near the glass transition temperature. It suggests that the relaxation time diverges at a finite temperature below the glass transition. This equation is often used to characterize the fragility of glass-forming liquids.
