Kauzmann temperature
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006310
The theoretical temperature at which the configurational entropy of a supercooled liquid extrapolates to that of the crystal phase. Below this temperature, the liquid would have lower entropy than the crystal, which is thermodynamically impossible. This concept is used in the study of glass transitions in polymers and other materials.
