Williams-Landel-Ferry equation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012702
An empirical equation that describes the temperature dependence of the viscoelastic properties of amorphous polymers above their glass transition temperature. It relates the shift factor, used in time-temperature superposition, to temperature differences from a reference temperature. This equation is widely applied to predict the long-term mechanical behavior of polymers from short-term measurements at different temperatures.
