Strong collision
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011487
A collision between molecules that results in a complete redistribution of energy among the internal degrees of freedom of the colliding species. In the context of unimolecular reactions, a strong collision effectively thermalizes the excited molecule, bringing its energy distribution back to equilibrium. This concept is often used in simplified models of reaction kinetics.
