Collision number

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002226

The total number of collisions occurring per unit volume per unit time between all molecules in a system. This macroscopic quantity is derived from the collision frequency of individual molecules and the total number density of the gas. It is a key parameter in understanding the kinetics of gas-phase reactions.
