Amorphous carbon
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000502
A form of carbon that lacks a long-range crystalline structure, unlike graphite or diamond. Its atoms are arranged in a disordered network that contains a mixture of sp2 and sp3 hybridized bonds. Materials such as soot, charcoal, and some thin films are considered forms of amorphous carbon.
