Pressure-induced transition
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009411
A phase transformation in a solid material that occurs solely due to changes in applied external pressure, without alterations in temperature or chemical composition. This transition involves a rearrangement of atoms or molecules into a new crystal structure or amorphous state. Such transitions are often studied using high-pressure experimental techniques like diamond anvil cells.
