Pressure gradient correction factor
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009410
A factor applied in gas chromatography to account for the compressibility of the carrier gas as it flows through the column, which results in a pressure drop along its length. This correction is necessary to accurately relate retention times to column volume and to compare retention data obtained under different pressure conditions. It is often denoted by the symbol 'j'.
